Marmalade Pantry @ Ion Orchard

Marmalade Pantry has always been one of my favourite high-tea haunts in tea. Previously located in a quiet corner of Orchard at Palais Renaissance, Marmalade moved its premises to Ion shortly after its opening. An open concept café, Marmalade Pantry is situated in the middle of the 3^rd floor of Ion Orchard right smack middle of numerous boutiques.  Wanting to settle down for a quick tea before we headed off to our various appointments, my friends and I decided to head down to Marmalade for a cake or two.

Cherry Crumble Tart ($6.80)

L decided upon a Cherry Crumble tart as he wanted something tangy and refreshing. Expecting the tart to come with slices of fresh cherry beneath a cherry glaze, he was pretty surprised when the tart arrived.  The tart was cake-like with a moist and egg-rich interior that was flanked by a buttery and crumbly tart base. There were small specks of cherry scattered throughout the tart and the cherry taste was pretty light for a tart. It tasted pretty good but we hoped for more cherry bits within the tart to add to the flavor and texture of the tart.

Black @ Tripleone Somerset

A coffee-lover, I have been meaning to try Black at Tripleone Somerset ever since my friend told me about this place serving gourmet coffee. Pretty full from a trip to Cold Stone Creamery, it was a pity I couldn’t try their range of delectable desserts or sandwiches.

The cafe was located across Applebees and was decorated with quirky items such as old-fashioned television and radio sets. We managed to get a seat at the sofa area which had different eletic chairs. The table that came with the area was unusual as well as it was a glass surface perched atop one of the retro television set.

Wild Honey @ Mandarin Gallery

It has been two years since I have stepped into Wild Honey; a hidden find located at Mandarin Gallery. Wild Honey serves all-day breakfast, and not just any ordinary American Breakfast.. one can choose from their diverse selection of recipes, ranging from Japanese, European or even Italian! It was just 6 o’ clock and my friend and I were rather surprised to see that most of the seats of the restaurant were already taken; depicts a lot about the popularity of this restaurant right?

Cold Stone Creamery @ Orchard Central

The much anticipated Cold Stone Creamery has arrived on our shores! I have been waiting for the final touches to the ice-cream cafe to be completed ever since walking past her advertorial a few months ago. Due to my rather hectic schedule, I lost the opportunity to be one of her first few customers and even had some of my friends complimenting how lip-smacking the ice-cream from Cold Stone were.
